さいとう弓さんは、東京大学大学院人文社会系研究科インド哲学仏教学科博士課程でヨーガ哲学の研究をされています。舞踊の勉強もされており、韓国国立総合芸術大学大学院を卒業されています。現在は、東京大学仏教青年会そのほか各地でハタヨーガを教えておられ、まさにContemplative Learning Networkが重んじる「聞思修」- 心身の学びと思考的/リクレクティブな学びの一体性 - を体現されている実践家/研究者です。

Yumi SAITO.
Yuki Saito is a PhD candidate at Tokyo University Graduate School of Humanities, Department of Indian Philosophy and Buddhist Studies. She specializes in Yoga philosophy. Yumi also has a background in dance, having studied choreography at the graduate school of Korea National University of the Arts. She is a hatha yoga teacher, and integrates philosophy and somatic, contemplative practice in her work.

授業目的:
言語（外国語）を学ぶことは、新たな世界観に触れることであり、自分自身が当たり前としているフィルターを知ることでもある、ということを「言語文化論」では学んでいます。
言葉と文化、時間、身体、存在の関係性や全体性について、サンスクリット語の学びを窓口に、お話しいただきます。
サンスクリット語を学び、ヨーガ経典を研究することそのものが、修練であり、さいとう弓先生にとってのcontemplative learningであるということにも触れていければと思います。
Class objectives:
We will delve into the cosmology of the Sanskrit language - of conceptions of time, body, being. Studying Sanskrit brings us to question; What is language? What does the process of understanding language involve? And why do we use language in spite of its impossibility and ambiguity and dangers? We will also consider how the study of language, and of Sanskrit in particular, is itself a contemplative learning practice, as well as a philosophical and anthropological endeavour
